HMRC are to launch a new taskforce examining the records of businesses in the following sectors:
  • Northern Ireland - Hair and Beauty Businesses
  • South Wales, South West, Yorkshire, Notts, North East - Motor Trade
  • South West, South Wales - Restaurants
  • Scotland - Pubs and Nightclubs
Business owners can expect teams of HMRC investigators visiting them to go through records and verify information. These taskforces have been put together to plug tax avoidance and evasion. HMRC expect to collect nearly £30 million in unpaid taxes.
